The Student Government Association at SUNY Old Westbury was created to represent, advocate for and protect the welfare of the student body of the College.  To achieve these purposes t he SGA shall:

• Provide and promote educational, cultural and social programming and activities for the student body.
• Provide information to the student body from all constituents of the College. All SGA material is public information and will be made available upon request to the campus community in a timely manner.
• Help ensure the quality of education at the College is maintained in order to encourage tje development of students' ongoing academic pursuits.
• Promote active student involvement in the governance of the college.
